FEATURES

Features

Proven material, breakthrough technology

Hexacor polypropylene honeycomb is gaining popularity across many diverse industries as the world looks for new materials to improve performance, reduce weight and lower costs. With good all-round properties at competitive pricing, it has been widely used in applications that demand strength-to-weight performance.

Sandwich core material

Hexacor polypropylene honeycomb is typically used as a core material in sandwich constructions, sandwiched between strong facing skins such as aluminium, steel, wood, paper and fibreglass. The resulting construction behaves much like an I-beam, which benefits from increased strength and stiffness at reduced weight.

Round cell matrix

The honeycomb is made up of cells that are round rather than hexagonal, more closely resembling honeycomb structures found in nature. The round cells give the matrix 3 orientations versus the 2 orientations of hexagonal matrices. As a result, the properties are more uniform in all directions across the entire sheet.

Fused cells

The cells are fused together rather than glued. Without glue as the weakest link in the honeycomb matrix, the sheets are more resilient.

Every cell is very stable, and the manufacturing technology produces cells that are extremely consistent regardless of sheet size.
